Software
The software programmes for module configuration are part of the complete and flexible solutions from PR electronics. Configuration of the PC programmable transmitters is executed via PReset. In the following you can read more about the software used to configure the different PR modules.
OBS! The PReset programme is zipped.
The zip file must be saved on the harddisk and unpacked before the programme is started.
PReset
A Windows-based programme for the configuration of programmable modules in the 5000-, 5300-, 5500- and 6300-series for temperature measurement, level measurement, isolation, etc. The program is developed for Windows ME, 98SE, 2000 and XP platforms but can also run in NT4.0, Vista and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit). Besides configuration the PReset software gives access to process calibration, sensor error detection, etc.
Some of the modules must be configured in DOS. These modules will normally start the interactive PReset_DOS program automatically from the PReset_Windows platform. In cases where the PC's operating system does not match the system requirements of PReset_DOS, PR electronics can deliver different boot media to enable the PC to start in pure DOS mode.
PR electronics offers two different programming kit for the communication between PC and module:
- Loop Link 5909 is used for all Windows-programmable modules. The unit is delivered with a USB connection to the PC.
- Loop Link 5905A is used for both DOS and Windows communication. The unit is delivered with an RS 232 connection to the PC.
GSD/DD files
Modules with integrated bus communication need GSD/DD files in order to function. A GSD/DD file contains the information that allows the transmitter to communicate with the bus system.
