Desulfurization S02 scrubber

 

 

 

A SO2 scrubber is necessary to remove sulfur dioxide from boiler and furnace exhaust gases. The scrubbing process is pH dependent and therefore pH measurements must be accurate and alarms are necessary to maintain the correct pH value in the process.

 

The PR 5116B programmable transmitter provides accurate signals and alarming. The pH sensor is powered by the 5116B and the pH signal is linearized and converted to a 4...20 mA signal for the DCS. The high level of isolation protects the DCS input card and the 5116B alarm relays are used for sensor error detection and high pH alarm.
