UK Conformity Assessment (UKCA)

 
UKCA mark   The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking, known as ‘new approach’ goods.

 

All products must demonstrate compliance with UK legislation no later than December 31, 2024, 11 pm GMT and thereby meet the regulatory requirements stated in the UK legislation. Conformity to EU regulations and usage of the CE mark is accepted in the UK until this deadline.

 

After the deadline of December 31, 2024, 11 pm GMT all products previously bearing the CE mark must bear the UKCA mark on the product label and the accompanying documentation and have an UK Declaration of conformity available.

 

Non-Ex products

For non-Ex products, PR electronics is allowed to self-declare compliance, as it is also the case with CE marked products. The work required for self-declaration has already been initiated and will be completed before the deadline of December 31, 2024, 11 pm GMT.

 

A UKCA Declaration of Conformity will be made available on the PR website and the UKCA logo will be added to the Safety Note initially before being added to the product label.

 

 

Ex - Zone 2 products (Category 3)

For the PR product series 45xx, 3xxx and 9xxxA, a UKEX certificate, issued by DEKRA NL, will be available along with a UKCA Declaration of Conformity, a UKCA product label and UKCA product documentation, no later than January 1, 2023.

 

For all other zone 2 products, UKCA conformity is based on a self-assessment which will reference the product ATEX certificates. A UKCA Declaration of Conformity will be made available on the PR website along with the UKCA product documentation and updated product label, no later than December 31, 2024, 11 pm GMT.

 

Ex - Zone 0 & 1 products (Category 1 & 2)

For the PR product series 9xxxB, a UKEX certificate, issued by DEKRA UK, will be available along with a UKCA Declaration of Conformity, a UKCA product label and UKCA product documentation, no later than June 1, 2023.

 

For all other zone 0 & 1 products, UKCA conformity is based on a self-assessment and will reference the product ATEX certificate. A UKCA Declaration of Conformity will be made available together with the UKCA certificate on the PR website and the UKCA logo will be added to the Safety Note and to the product label, no later than December 31, 2024, 11 pm GMT.
